Hello All, Our West Coast Reunion is planned for the weekend of May 6-7 in the Santa Cruz area at the north end of exquisite Monterey Bay. There is so much to do and see here. Our planned activities including the hotel details are as follows: We will be staying at the recently remodeled Quality Inn and Suites in beautiful Capitola By The Sea (www.qualityincapitola.com), 720 Hill Street, Capitola, CA 95010. Thirty rooms have been reserved (20 king beds and 10 duel queen beds), for check-in starting on Friday, May 5, 2017. They are reserved under the group name: Lancia Club, account #2810118. The club rates per night are $115 for king and $120 for dual queens. The hotel rates include a full breakfast daily. The hotel has a breakfast room as well as a pool and two outside decks. If you haven’t already, please call early for reservations at 831.462.3004. The rooms will be held until April 14, 2017. We plan having our welcome reception starting at 4pm in the hotel breakfast room on Friday evening. A Saturday morning drive to tour Capella’s car museum in Scotts Valley will be followed by a picnic lunch at Roaring Camp Railway/ Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Reserved parking on the lawn is provided. We then have a scheduled 2pm Steam-Train ride through the Redwoods reserved for our group. We will then caravan back to the hotel along country roads. Dinner that evening will be in a local restaurant, Star Bene. Please sign-up on the registration form and select your lunch and dinner meals accordingly as well as number of train tickets required. On Sunday morning, we’ll hold our concourse and awards ceremony at the hotel after breakfast followed by an optional drive up the coast to Pescadero (lunch on your own) and a tour back to the hotel through Santa Cruz via West Cliff and East Cliff Drives. Sunday dinner is on your own and we will gladly provide recommendations. Hank Koning is planning a post-reunion tour down the coast starting Monday morning. In addition, we have commissioned unique and beautiful jackets commemorating this event (please indicate size and color on the registration form). Attached are pictures with colors to help with your selection. The basic fee of $130 includes everything except the jackets and train ride. Please note that the deadline for registration is April 1, 2017. We are so excited at the prospect of seeing all of you again at this beautiful and unique venue and encourage you to sign up as early as possible so we may make final arrangements.
